Willies Wonky Chocolate Factory: Venezuelan Black

willies-chocolateIf you’re a viewer of Channel 4 you might have caught sight last night of the first of 4 episodes of Willie’s Wonky Chocolate Factory - I missed it !

The Willie in question is Willie Harcourt-Cooze and he owns the Venezuelan Black chocolate company. According to his website, Willie is the only small cacao grower and producer in the UK. He harvests his cacao from his farm, high in the mountains of Henri Pittier National Park in Zenezuela and then ships it to his chocolate factory in Devon.

Did anyone watch the first episode? Was it good?

[update] You can get the chocolate on ebay either via buy-it-now or by bidding.

  1. it was great watching the second one

  2. Great story but are consumers ready for an intense product of 100% chocolate where it is used as an ingredient?

The programme was more or less just a cookery show on how to add venezuelan black chocolate into just about every food from Gazpacho soup to mushroom risotto. Interesting.

  3. This could have been such a goo programme. Like most people I spoke to last Monday, I had enough of Willie after 20 minutes. Trying to be another Jamie Oliver (etc.,) or set up a chocolate business. Became a bore after 30 minutes….watching it tonight, but not the whole programme!

  4. Typical woman, i am interested in the fact that his wife lost 11lbs eating the choclate, and would love to know more, and try it for myself!

  5. Dagnamit - where can i buy this - soemone get a website up and running to sell online

  6. Thanks for the comments.

I suppose with programmes such as these you have to expect a lot of self promotion - presumably he signed up for the show to promote his business.

I, for one, am certainly not ready for 100% chocolate - way too strong for my taste buds.

  7. Greetings fellow choc-addicts,

How much does the bloody stuff cost? I’ve been to both Willie’s own site & Selfridges - neither of which list the cost!

Perhaps they’re scared it’ll frighten the punters off…

    =]

  8. Someone told me Selfridges are selling it. The website details the products but you can’t seem to buy any just now.

  9. good concept, will be watching how the marketing is going with interest,

    best wishes with it dude . . . . . . . .

  10. We’ve just stumbled on the programme and I think the market is definitely ready for a product like this. No more cooking with cadbury’s or rubbish supermarket products but pure, 100% chocolate? And with recipes on the back we can try… sounds like my dream come true.
We are by no means talented in the kitchen but we enjoy the challenges that programmes like this have given us and the satisfaction we get when we taste something we have created ourselves is unbelievable.
I have never watched a programme and wanted someone to do well as much as this. I wish Willie and his hard working family and friends all the luck in the world and I am now on a mission to try the chocolate out! :)

  11. Thoroughly enjoy watching this programme. It’s not just about producing the chocolate, but seeing the process of starting one’s own business and the effect it has on everyone. I love the look of the chocolate and and think that the ideas for its use are exciting. I look forward to seeing it in the shops.

  12. I just love willy i could watch him all night. I think he could show the likes of jamie oliver and few other celebrity chefs a thing or two about how to be sexy. Get your chocolate in the shops NOW! XXXXXXXXXXXXX

  13. I have just seen the second program in the series and was very impressed with the stamina and passion of Willie in getting his product to market. He should have gone onto Dragon’s Den as he would have secured all the funding he needs AND at least one Dragon to get his product on the shelves - look what happened to Reggae Reggae Sauce! I really wish him the very best of success for his venture and wish I could buy the product now. We need more people like Willie in this country and full support for him and his business and no he is not trying to be a Jamie Oliver he just has a similar no nonsense approach to his cooking.

  14. both my husband and I are absolutely speechless. no common sense, no business sense what so ever. the programme could and should have been used as a showcase. its willie wonky plonky. poor poor woman. mrs willie get rid of plonky and take the slimming choc drink idea, get a website and get selling the drink, make a dvd, get it on u tube, and get that in front of the public. A choc drink that helps you slim, fantastic, tell wonky to stick his sticky choc puds where the sun don’t shine, and venezuelan black is just not a good name for so many reasons. Chock shock super slim diet drink is tops

  15. Great viewing. He’s slightly infuriating and arrogant - but so committed that we wish him well. Long-suffering wife deserves successs too. Where can we buy this product - we live well-north of Watford!!

  16. Hey give this guy a break ………he is the most natural/talented cook I have ever watched. I think his recopies are original and fun, he has charm and he makes it look effortless. This family work really hard and I think he and his lovely wife should get all the support they deserve. Its great watching the progression of their business and I really hope they can pull it off. I would certainly buy the 100 % chocolate if its good enough for Willy’s family then its good enough for mine.

  17. please can someone tell me how to get hold of the chocshock drink. sounds like a fine idea to me. great program by the way, ill be watching th rest of the series. where is the market located it would be good to visit and try the stuff!

  18. Grt programme was very interesting you need to do a video on u tube re the history this gives a honest backround to the product watched hotel chocolat and how he went on to american tv channel and marketed his product not as interesting as your recipes grt recipes you have shown, get out there and sell some 100 percent not out there on the market ,my son drinks hotchoc everyday grt market here would love to try , I bought one tesco probadly industry cacoa in this product not grt microwaved spilled half the cup , marshmallow grt marketing touch as kids love them .Could your product be sold to coffee shops to make this grt product . rawfoods also bought but only company that could find the bean re project helping my son with , I couldnt buy 100percent bar. bought 85% because it was from st lucia and thats were we based are product from .Is the product for sale at selfridges.website have you got set up? website is major source ,you have educated people with your programme great to see your families get up and go attitude and your lows and highs .the recipes were great maybe some more versatile like the chocolate puds , read a article that cadburys were re using there chocolate what a shame ,your chocolate has a natural fact about it and we are not educated enough to understand its true natural sense . it amaze me the whole process how long it takes for the pod to ripen and trees to blossoming the beauty of the trees the whole raking drying of beans .You will get there you have the drive and don’t lack a certain image its there .100 percent chocolate as I understand doesnt get eaten as a bar it to add to a special dish a ingredient some thing unique to be savoured a special wow im ready, I do hope I can find that cake recipes with the almonds and get that 100 percent in it . thankyou I loved your programme and wish you success don’t forget were your cocoa has come from and the planation growers how much work they put in to growing this natural bean that makes us a wonderful chocolate

  19. Hi, like the program, but at times turns into a cookery program, I am very interested in the drink, but just where do I get it from ????????.

  20. Get that diet chocloate drink details out. It sounds perfect for the 4pm dip in energy. Mrs Willie is wonderful how she stayed sooo calm when he couldn`t find his coat, keys etc and the son was beeping the horn. Would like to see more of her and get your diet out there, girl.

  21. Me and my Partner areLoving the program…. really wanna know more about the diet choc drink, also we have a friend would makes cakes for a business so would like to try the choclate in making wedding, birthday cakes etc…

  22. I don’t watch cooking programmes cos I feel so inadequate afterwards - HOWEVER, just love watching Willie’s venture and am suffering from frustration due to the fact I don’t know where to buy (on line or local) outside London.
Best wishes to all involved in developing the Factory.
    Trish

  23. There is a lot of tough competition in the Chocolate business. He has to beat the likes of Pierre Marcolini for sheer quality. Fortnam nad Masons have an extraordinary selection as do Harrods so he needs to get in there.
Amazing free publicity though and a great story.
Venuzeulan Black eh? Sounds like something you might crumble into a rollie and smoke!

  24. Willy Wonkys chocolate two fascinating programmes and any lover of chocolate could not fail to be impressed with Willie’s passion. i hope he makes it big time and is there any chance of that gorgious looking chocolate cake is programme 2 going on sale ? My taste buds were frantic as he offered pieces to Cullompton residents. Good luck Will in getting into the High St, although I imagine quality chocolate will not be cheap.

  25. love the sound of choc shocks!
how much and where can i buy it?

  26. Well done Willy. I am Venezuelan and I grew up with this wonderful chocolate. I wish you luck….,but please do not put chocolate in the lovely black beans and arepas. I have so many wonderful recipes and by the way we always had our hot chocolate with milk.
Thankyou for all the hard work , bringing the real stuff to this country. I think british people should know what real chocolate tastes like.

    Buena suerte !

    Betty Bickford

  27. Well done Willie and your family for keeping going when odds were down. You all deserve to be billionsires for your drive and determination you all are an inspiration for other entropeneurs.would die for a piece of that cake lol!!nice slant on the rastafari lion!and name! In the words of marley’ every little thing gonna be alright.’

  28. Hi there
Have seen both programmes and would like to know where I can buy the choco for the “Choc Shocks” pleeeese!!

  29. Loving the series. Just wanted to say good luck, you deserve all the success you can get. We have built our own business so know what it is like to be broke with kids! Keep going it will pay off in the end it did with us. Will be trying your product. All the best!

  30. I create a programme and not be able to keep up with the demand, I watched it as well and been on the website to order but sold out. If they were going to do the programe they must of known that it would sell or did he not think it would be as good as he was telling us ? I suggest that instead of making programes he stlcks to making the chocolate and keep up with the demand. If I was him I would be so fustrated that the product cant get to the shelves quick enough I just hope these disapointed customer keep the faith and dont turn to another supplier of chocolate.

  31. You can watch all the episodes at channel 4s 4od online service…
I have a bag of raw cacao beside me here and munch the nibs down as snacks with sultanas and nuts…they are also great on cereals.
Raw cacao is old news for the new age detox community as it has more antioxidents than any other foodstuff.
There are pills called ‘euphoric chocolate diet pills’ that do the job 4 slimmers although they may have discontinued them.
detoxyourworld.com will sell you 100% and the raw nibs I think.
I think the financial risks associated with Willies venture have been ramped up for TV. Good luck to him.

  32. When i get married i would Love this choclate in a choc fountain and in little boxes for the female guests as table decor.

Where can you buy this choclate and what are its prices and the range they do?

  33. Great program, great story, infuriatingly frustrating that you have to travel to Selfridges to buy the damn stuff! They don’t sell it on line, they don’t list the cost - sorry Willy but if you don’t make it more readilly available NOW, people will soon forget and move on! - thats life however good your chocolate is.

  34. Take the wife’s idea - chocolate to lose weight by. Go with that, get it out onto the market, because I and millions of others wanting to lose some weight would love to try it (even if it didn’t help that much!) it just sounds wonderful. And there is infinately more money spent on trying to lose weight, than on posh unusual food ingredients. That could then fund the rest of the chocolate business. Choc Shoc - great idea.

  35. I’ve heard that the chocolate costs £7 from selfridges, they are getting additional stock on march 14th.

I am desperate to try the stuff!! If anyone is selling on ebay, or knows how I can buy it online, please tell me!!!!!!!!!

  36. Choc shoc is just cocoa and water so Willie is better off making what he makes at the moment as you couldn’t patent that idea. The big supermarket chains tell us what we are or aren’t ready for thankfully selfridges and private businesses give us the chance to try something new. My only issue is the price as chocolate shouldn’t just be for the rich.

  37. I love the programme and I want some of that stufffffff get making those round blocks ;-)

  38. Great News to all,

Selfridges are now selling the product at £7 for a 180gms block. Received mine this morning (24 hrs after ordering). The recipes are on the back of the labels.

  39. Found this website that has loads of recipes and useful info:
    http://www.squidoo.com/VenezuelanBlack

  40. i have bought some and made truffles this morning (start with the easy stuff!) the smell was amazing! can’t wait to try them later! (although the spoon was well and truley licked and tasted great!)

  41. Paul, Can you tell me what link to Selfridges site you got order info for Choc., please? Went on there a week ago couldn’t find anywhere to place order?

    Many thanks

  42. Just watched the repeat of the first program, well made and a joy to watch.

now…just need a website to buy the chocolate from!

    well done!

  43. What a courageous, intelligent and foolhardy man with a lovely family, very elegant and no doubt long suffering wife!

They all deserve every success in their pursuit of deliciousness!

  44. is willie selling it direct as we cant all get to london to buy it and selfridges are very expensive
would love to give it a try especially the hot chocolate to lose weight

  45. Can someone answer all the questions above, All us women want the slimming chocolate drink………..

  46. Guys you will not believe it but its already trading on ebay at £12 a block!!

  47. I love the series and have so far watched 3. Willie is wonderfully eccentric person with such a lovely family who are all willing to try any food/concoction and all muck in when needed. I have put my name down at Selfridges for £7.50 and £2.50 postage for any amount for the next batch of Venezuelan Black to make the choc shot with water - great idea! I also want to try the recipe with Black beans and gazpacho soup. Love Willie’s enthusiasm for the love of venezuelan black and all the best for his future in this.

  48. its on ebay at £30-40 a block ^^

  49. Hi Everyone

I emailed Willie at the official site on 3rd March and I’ve just this minute received a reply……

    Dear John

Thanks very much for your email.

I’m just finishing filming and in the middle of making more chocolate (which is delicious!).

Venezuelan Black is stocked by Selfridges and from the end of March from soon to be disclosed locations. Keep watching Willie’s Wonky Chocolate Factory, the final episode is on Sunday 23rd March, Channel 4 at 9pm and all will be revealed.

There is only one official website for my Venezuelan Black which is http://www.venezuelanblack.com

    Many thanks.

    Willie

    ++end++

So there you go! Note the reference to what Willie says is the only official site at http://www.venezuelanblack.com

Guess you’ll have to watch the next episode to see if it mentions who the other stockists will be. Any guesses?

  50. My wife also desperate to try thr chocalate drink!
If it was me I would start selling it on line, as starting a business is hard enough, with out the support of a television programme!
Perhaps there is something in his contract to with hold the product ubtil the programme finishes?
Nevertheless good luck to him and his family, it takes a lot of guts to open your family to this kind of intense filming warts and all!!!

  51. Seems like everyone wants to try willies chocolate including me.I think its great that everyones taking an interest. It could be said that its just chocolate but for me its the fact that its 100 per cent chocolate thats making me want to try it.
GOOD LUCK TO WILLIE AND HIS FAMILY.

  52. Well I looked on Selfridges Web site today, stocks were in on 14th March but have sold out, however, the bars are £7.00 each sounds very reasonable to me I was expecting £20.00 +++ They will take your name and number and call you when in stock so look on the site and talk to the food hall. They won’t take bookings anymore. The lovelly chap I spoke to today said they were expecting more stock yesterday but it didn’t arrive and they now don’t know when it will be in.
I’d say be patient, I wish I’d saved the programmes to re-watch. I’d like this programme to have been alot longer than 4 shows, more on Venezuela and the people and the whole farm, more on travelling up the mountain re the cain sugar… its all so wonderful. The man is so ‘obsessed’ with chocolate and to see someone putting their dreams on the line… so many of us would love to do something but haven’t the nerve, I don’t care what he cooks, what he does, he’s obviously from a different background from most of us all but he’s a charming man, my first impressions when he met his foreman in Venezuela from the huge hug and all the people who are his friends on the show are from all walks of life and he’s a lucky man to have a rich diversity of friends. His wife complements him, when he’s stressed she’s calm and vice versa. I loved the fact that their children are open to food and new tastes and like Willie said on the last episode I watched good for his daughter for trying the oyster, not many children would try an oyster, my nephew wouldn’t try a popadom, but at an indian meal… The show is way too short and Willie should do a follow up on cooking whether with cocolate or not, he’s lovelly with his just pouring in this and that without measure, my mum used to do that.. it looks sort of the right amount she’d say.. fantastic programme and cobblers for people saying we arn’t ready for 100% cocolate.. there’s loads of stuff ‘animals’ I wouldn’t try on principle, which is my own decision, but anything else I’m ready for… I really hate it when people say a ‘nation’ isn’t ready…
I think by the huge demand, obviously the original 3,000 bars sold out and there isa huge demand for more so lets show them they are all talking rubbish when they say 100% choc we’re not ready for it… try it first it costs a measly £7.00…. and if you don’t like the taste make it into chocolate to your taste.

  53. is anyone going to share the website where they found the buying option?im another person that has been on the selfridges site and not found the buying option.

  54. I have really enjoyed watching. I have just printed the recipe for the chocolate cake. how can i order some of the chocolate though to make the cake?

  55. Hi,

For the ladies who wanted the slimming ‘Choc Shoc’ recipe. I found it on here:
    http://www.squidoo.com/VenezuelanBlack
Also from this website I discovered that Waitrose are also stocking Willie’s chocolate, from this weekend, hurrah!

  56. Any one who is self employed will know how difficult it is to get a business off the ground. I whole heartily congratulate Willie Harcourt-Cooze on his great achievement. This man has shown great spirit and determination plus an absolute believe in his product.

Willie is a true entrepreneur as this documentary has shown. Showing how to start a business, finding ways around obstacles, fine tuning and triumph. WOW, if I had half the determination this man has, I would be more successful in my own business.

Willies family have had to suffer as well, their grit and determination along with Willies has been his back bone. Here is a family that has shown what its like to push forward with such believe. If I had known this man I would have backed him all the way, he is a true business man.

Before I close, anyone who wants to start a business, take note of this man, his trials and tribulations, how he overcame adversity and finally won through. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

All left now to say is, well done Willie, I wish you and your family all the best fore the future.

I will be watching the repeat of episode three and record episode four so I can digest (sorry for the pun) this mans final glory.

PS: can I have my fiver now (only kidding)

    Regards

    Dave Pannell

  57. The thing is this is not chocolate as most peolple would recognise, this is a specialized product for adding to things and not just biting and eating…not every thing as he would try to make you beleive…..mushroom rissotto is just crap…..and as for the chocolate shot/shock diet you will be adding so much sugar in one form or another to the mix to make it palatable your calories will go through the roof. stick to a well balanced junk free diet.the bars on ebay go for about £20.00 so im off to selfridges and load up and then start my selling empire.

  58. Top hardworking man who deserves to do well. Looking forward to trying some of his cooking idea’s.

  59. Willie
your fab, but get the choc shocks, cakes whatever out
there 1st to make some money and the 100% blocks can follow, as an ingredient there isn,t going to be such a big market for that.
Keep up the promo stuff, so people get to know you.
    Give your wife a hug.

  60. Waitrose are selling from today at £5.99 each in their 120 stores (nice one wille), i’m so going to buy mine when i have the money

    thanks for the links

  61. Not a big market? You’re joking - he can’t make it quick enough. The novelty will die off when it’s readily available, but by then it will be a recognised and established product.

  62. Willi, where can i get you 100% blocks, And when will they come to asda in liverpool or tescos. and your product will sell a lot better if you sell chocolate bars.

    P.S
    I love waching the show.

  63. The one thing that is cleverley worded now in the last programe is that his own farm beans that are made into bars are an exclusive product meaning that most of the bars he produces are from mixed farms in venezuela and not a single farm,so it is no different to the chocolate avaialble now in good shops if you look, you can get single source and high cocao bars

  64. I’m really looking forward to trying this chocolate, and am delighted Willie and family came out looking good.

However I thought the programme was incredibly contrived, it was really just an advertisement, also I suspect they are not as hard up as you might imagine, with Tania fathers being Lord Coleridge.

  65. well everyone you can buy the product from selfridges all over the country it cost 7 pounds. it is also available at waitrose stores.

you can also get on ebay but at very expensive prices.

  66. Brilliant programme, breath of fresh air to the usual tv cooking stuff, funny as well as serious. But the guy dosn’t look as hard up as he says he is,as suggested by Choco,
Good luck Willie. Good idea TV.

  67. I have bought carenero superior from Waitrose today.
It is £5.99. I have made the chocolate drink adding honey to sweeten and it was very good. If I lose weight it will be an added bonus.

  68. I really liked watching this program i found it very strange but good that willie puts cacao in everything and it all looks so delish, i cant wait to get my hab=nds on some yummy yummy

  69. His wife is a saint cause I sure as hell couldnt live with him, BUT, I want his chocolate! Willy you just have to get mail order sorted asap.

  70. I have had the pleasure of meeting Willie at his factory, as the show stated he is a one man band but he still had the time to chat about the channel 4 fly on the wall doc and sell me 4 fresh warm blocks of cocao on bank hol monday. A genuine guy who has worked his arse off. I wish him every sucsess and look forward to going back there once ive ran out.

  71. i am so excited about this product, congratulations to Willie and his wife, all your hard work has paid off, you really deserve the rewards which are undoubtedly about to come your way. Wishing you the very best of luck, Alex

  72. Both Waitrose stores near me sold out and so has Selfridges anyone know of any stock anywhere?

  73. I have watched with both interest and envy religiously from the beginning. Knowing the beauty of Venezuela and the love of good chocolate, I have found it emotional viewing. Good on them both, for having the balls and intuition to follow a passion in life. As a chef I am waiting with baited breath to get hold of some bars here in France, to try.
I wish them all the best luck, its more than deserved.

  74. Willy is some boy!! get me some of that chock - I’m in love with his wife!!!

  75. watched the program with great interest ,
will defiantly be getting some of them bar’s for my cooking and store cupboard ,
did any one else think that Willy looked a bit like Marco
    very nice

  76. yes ann smith i thought that willie and marco looked very like.very rustic looking.mmmmmmm very nice

  77. What a load of you know what. This family is NOT poor at all and has mucho money in the bank. Do not feel sorry for them or ‘the poor, suffering wife.’ If the chocolate tastes good and is popular, fine, but like most UK reality shows, it is show business pure and simple and not necessarily 100% accurate.

  78. this was a really good show and i watched every one. i really enjoyed it. and it was fun to watch:-)

  79. From meeting Willie at his factory the show was a good marketing strategy ill agree but thats free press and anyone how has balls to be filmed 24/7 deserves credit. he is a genuine guy who will happly talk to any customer no matter how big your order or how busy he is. You will probably never get a better producer who really puts every ounce of enegy into his work.

  80. Have finally managed to get cacoa - EBAY! Am having it as choc. drink and it is gorgeous - just hope it does what it did for Willie’s wife - lose lbs…..

  81. If I take a trip to Tiverton Devon can I buy the chocolate in Waitrose in Tiverton?

  82. Keep going Willie. Some-day you will reach Geordie Land !!!!! and I will be first in the Queue.

  83. If you’re in Tiverton, you could try:

    Reapers Healthfoods
    18 Bampton St, Tiverton, Devon EX16 6AA

    01884 255 310

Might be worth ringing them though, if you’re planning on making a special journey - they do get the bars in fairly regularly, but the sell out quickly too. If you go to Tiverton, and you like good food, but enjoy sweet things, drop into ‘Four and Twenty Blackbirds’ on Gold street for a pudding, or the National Trust place - Knightshayes court on the outskirts of town also have a good cafe/restaurant!

  84. Waitrose now stock this chocotate for £5.99 as others have said, but you will not find it in the chocolate section, you will find it in the cake ingredients section next to the flour. They would sell a lot more if it was not hidden away like this. Also recipes needed!

  85. Loved the programme (hats off to you all), but more importantly loved the chocolate, so much so that I decided to use it in one of my products. Your chocolate together with my recipe has provided a unique combination of flavours, you could call it a marriage made in heaven! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  86. [...] related to film/TV related content, I happened to mention Willies Wonky chocolate factory on my new chocolate site last week and I’ve had a spike in both visitors and comments over the last 7-10 days with that [...]

  87. absolutely brilliant to see someone put 100% of there time and money into a dreem and have success at the end i think well done to all ps love chocolate hope to see more.

  88. I saw the first episode, i couldnt stop watching it.
The passion that man shows for the chocolat he makes is a treat for chocolat lovers all over the world.
and i wish i could se the other episodes..:(

  89. Is there a Waitrose supermarket in Tiverton Devon?
    If so where?

  90. I’ve been looking everywhere to get my hands on some of this… yes I have been wooed by the subtle yet brilliant marketing of Willie’s wife saying that she lost 11lb drinking the ‘chock shocks’ (espresso style shots of chocolate & water).

After initially refusing to pay £15 for a 180g lump, which I found available on ebay. I scoured the web only to discover that it could not be bought online and the only real alternatives are £6.50 for 70g from hotel chocolate (plus 3.95 p&p) and the Domori 100% bar, which although only £3.75ish per bar, is out of stock everywhere I look. So back to ebay then.

  91. Ocado sell it online, http://www.ocado.co.uk. £5.99. Yum yum, cannot wait to get in the kitchen!

  92. 15 years of hard work and dedication (and I am sure a little bit of fun and adventure along the way) just confirms to me that it is the journey that makes life worth living and that the light at the end of the tunnel is just the sweet cherry on an already iced cake. The man has my respect. Well done Willie.

  93. where can i buy some of his wonderful chocolate ?????

  94. [...] related to film/TV related content, I happened to mention Willies Wonky chocolate factory on my new chocolate site last week and I’ve had a spike in both visitors and comments over the last 7-10 days with that [...]

  95. after searching for ages found the cacao with no minimum order requirement on mummydeli.com
    enjoy!

  96. Where can I buy Willie’s real chocolate?

Loved the programme, what a guy.

  97. @Barbara …see other comments for current stockists

  98. I think that Willie is pushing at an open door. The British are ready for serious, adult chocolate. I wish the EU had stuck to their guns and not allowed our confectionary bars to be called chocolate.

I have found Hotel Chocolat a revelation! Their single origin bars are superb, particularly the St Lucia. We have enjoyed tasting evenings - just have we have done with single malt whiskies.

Good look Willie - Bring it on soon

  99. Willie where can i get my hands on your choclate? Please start shipping to Northern Ireland!!!!!.

  100. WILLIE,
I TASTED YOUR CHOCOLATE& LOVED IT….YUM YUM…. I CANT WAIT TO GET IT TO MY FAMILY IN AFRICA!!!!!!
IT IS THE BEST& HAS GOTTEN ME TO SWITCH TO DARK CHOCOLATE!!!
YOU ARE THE GRAND MASTER CHOCOLATIER- FORGET THE SWISS STUFF, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!

  101. At waitrose this morning in barnet a small crowd gathered round the empty shelf which had Willy’s chocolate. please send more to them!

  102. Willie is a legend….passion…determination…and…drive for providing a quality product in a time where so man people want t rip us off.
    Keep going Willie…great work!

P.S: if you could maybe extend your supply outside Selfridges that would be good…and I do speak on behalf of everyone in Scotland!

  103. The chock shock drink made perfect sense. I don’t think you need to buy it per se.
Just make it. In my mind it’s like a chocolate espresso. I use an espresso cup, throw in a LARGE teaspoon of 100% cocao, a very tiny pinch of salt and a sort of 1/2 teaspoon sugar and poor boiling water over it.
I was most surprised how much I LOVED this. Will never drink regular hot chocolate drinks again. Coffee makes me slightly nauseas with palpitations but this is my new DELISH!!!
Thanks for the tip Mr WILLIE’s wife!!! And all the best to you in your endeavours.

  105. i have been watching his show weekly.
Im a 16 year old who loves to cook and i am more then keen to try Willies chocolate in my cooking. i am eager to try it in savory dishes as well as sweet.

  106. I have tried just about all the different types of cacao that Willie produces and the are all very good, each with its own distinct and unique flavours. I have tried many different types of exquisite chocolates from Maison du Chocolat, Hotel Chocolate, Godiva, Varlhorna, Prestat etc and Willie’s has to be the best without a doubt! Try any of them, you will not be dissappointed.

If you need to make good quality dessert, good quality chocolate makes a substantial difference, the 100% bars are ideal if you are a fussy chocolate dessert cook. I tried it, the difference when using Willie’s chocolate is very clear compared to using an off the shelf mass produced brand.

Tania deserves real credit for all that she’s gone through.
