Chocolala Chocolates

Many thanks to Nick and Niladri (the lala boys) of Chocolala for sending me a sample box of their quality, hand made, Fair Trade chocolates.

Lets have a peek shall we?:

An attractive, white card presentation box:

Twelve, gorgeous chocs, keeping each other company:

Chocolala Chocolates

I know it’s not even lunchtime, but I’d best just try one..

Chocolala Chocolates

And the verdict? mmmm jolly nice indeed! Five minutes later there’s only eight left because my wife and my two young daughters had to have one each too!

Mine contained a lemon curd like centre and it was great. Lovely quality chocolate with a smooth, consistent centre. I like the size of the chocolates too, decent sized rectangles of chocolatey goodness!

Note that these chocolates do not contain preservatives and you’re advised to eat them within 14 days to experience them at their very best. It’s such a hard life!

These chocolates are definitely on a par with those from Hotel Chocolat.

Thanks again to Nick and Niladri at chocolala

Note: We have not received payment of any kind to post this sample product review.

Valentines Day Chocolates

Are you aware that it’s now less than one month until Valentines Day?

Last year, nearly half of Valentines gifters (43% to be more accurate) bought chocolates as presents (Retail Week, Feb 2007), possibly alongside flowers or other seasonal gifts, or as part of a special offer. Chocolate gifts such as truffles, luxury chocolates & Valentine-specific sweets (e.g. chocolate hearts) are all popular gifts for a loved one.

Hotel Chocolat offer a lustful selection of chocolatey gifts including:

  • Champagne Truffles
  • Hand piped chocolates and Prosecco
  • The Love Selection (ooh, sounds rather racy!)

What irresistible chocolates will you be buying for your loved one this year?

Lindt Chocolate Reindeer

Chocolate Reindeer

To accompany their Easter Bunny product, Lindt also produce this little chap - the chocolate reindeer. I think that’s the same red collar and bell that hangs around the bunny’s neck - I’ll check at Easter when we get one in our house.

I can’t tell you how good this reindeer tastes because I’m not allowed to bite it - it’s my daughters.

Hotel Chocolat Cracker

We were fortunate to receive a gift the other day for our search company and promised to show the photos here.

It’s a Hotel Chocolat Rather Large Cracker and well, as you can see it was rather large!

Chocolate Cracker

It was a proper cracker but it was a bit too tough for my young daughters to pull so me and Mum pulled it. Here are the chocolatey goodies that spilled out:

Chocolate Cracker

There was a selection of 40 chocolates with a Christmas theme, some containing alcohol. The cracker also contained 12 party hats and some jokes too.

Easter Eggs In Tesco

My wife visited our local Tesco Extra store this morning here on The Wirral and spotted that they were stocking their shelves with Easter eggs!

The Telegraph reports that Woolworths are another high street retailer and widely recognised Easter egg seller who are already selling eggs in-store. Their spokesman says:

We always sell Easter eggs as soon as Christmas is over as a lot of our customers like to be organised. We’ve done this for 50 years.

Seems rather early to me - what do you think?

Only The Crumbliest, Flakiest Chocolate

One of the Cadburys Flake TV adverts. Not so much suggestive behaviour in this particular one.

Joss Stone To Be New Flake Girl

It’s been widely reported that young singing star Joss Stone is to become the new Cadburys Flake girl.

The previous Flake adverts are very well known for their suggestive undertones, linking sex to chocolate. It’s understood that the new adverts, to be aired in Spring 2008, will not follow in the same manner. As The Guardain reports

Since launching in 1959, the Flake Girl ads have been noted for their occasionally risque themes. As far back as 1969’s black-and-white ad, the clips have been associated with more than a hint of sexual pleasure.

Previous famous Flake girls include the 1969 Miss World, Eva Rueber-Staier, who also starred in some James Bond films.
